WFCS/ISO 3834

Welding Fabricator Certification Scheme (WFCS)

Designed to enable welding fabricators to demonstrate compliance with ISO 3834 ‘Quality Requirements for Welding’; the Welding Fabricator Certification Scheme (WFCS), accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) provides independent verification of your company's welding and fabricating capabilities, and compliance with European and International Standards.

While Third-Party certification is not mandatory, regulations, standards and specifications are increasingly demanding that manufacturers, fabricators and repairers of welded products show compliance with ISO 3834. As such, certification in accordance with WFCS from TWI Certification Ltd (TWI Cert) provides an efficient, yet credible and globally recognised, affirmation of your compliance. Furthermore, many of TWI Cert’s customers report added benefits of WFCS certification, such as an increase in business opportunities both nationally and internationally and efficiencies made for quality systems, procedures and personnel.

WFCS is the only scheme in the UK that is authorised for ISO 3834 Certification by the European Welding Federation for Welding Joining and Cutting (EWF) and the International Institute of Welding (IIW). As mentioned, it is also a UKAS accredited scheme (to BS EN ISO/IEC 17065: Conformity assessment — Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services) and operates fully in line with EA/6-02.

TWI Cert also offers ISO 3834 certification in conjunction with welding of rail and track components. In the rail sector, WFCS certification provides assured compliance with both the Network Rail Track Engineering Maintenance Audit Checklist Q17 and the welding capability and personnel competence requirements of the RISQS Audit.
